Wetlands Board
The Wetlands Board is composed of five members, appointed by the Town Council, who review permit requests for the use, alteration, or development of tidal wetlands. The board's wetlands jurisdiction for non-vegetated wetlands (sand flat, mud flat, etc.) lies between mean low water and mean high water. Vegetated wetlands jurisdiction is from mean low water to an elevation one and one-half times the mean tide range. The Wetlands Board meets when an application has been submitted. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month. Meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. and are held in Council Chambers of West Point Town Hall, located at 802 Main Street, West Point, VA 23181.
